WhatsApp web gets revamped sidebar for easier navigation

WhatsApp is testing a revamped sidebar for the web interface, featuring separate icons for functions like chat, status, communities, and more on the left side. Currently available for users who have signed up for beta testing, the WhatsApp web’s new user interface (UI) will also be available in dark mode and look less cluttered compared to the current UI.

First spotted by WABetaInfo, the new UI offers a cleaner design, making it easier to navigate between various features on WhatsApp web. Right now, the updated WhatsApp web UI is limited to select users and is likely to roll out to everyone in the coming weeks. The new UI is also optimised for business users and includes options for broadcast and shopping to connect with businesses.

On the new WhatsApp web UI, the profile picture and settings options are located in the bottom left corner. In the coming days, WhatsApp could slightly tweak around the UI to make it even more intuitive before the official launch. Considering the current development, WhatsApp is likely to introduce a revamped sidebar to enhance the user experience on the WhatsApp web platform.

We can also expect to see a similar user interface on the Windows and macOS WhatsApp clients, offering the same seamless interface across platforms.

WhatsApp is also testing a tweaked UI for Android and iOS platforms. Additionally, the company is integrating Meta AI into the chatting app, which works similarly to ChatGPT and comes with features like an AI chatbot and image generation. These features can be accessed within WhatsApp for free.
