Gang steal copper plates worth Rs 12,000 from company in Hadapsar

A gang of five persons allegedly stole copper plates from the HERCO Transformers Limited premises in the Ramtekdi Industrial Estate in Hadapsar, after attacking a security guard and a worker at the spot, in the early hours of Wednesday.

Narayan Dhage (29), who works as a manager at the company, lodged an FIR in this case at the Wanwadi police station.

Police said the five accused attacked security guard Ramgopal Gupta and worker Nitin Shedge, who were on late night duty. The accused persons tied the duo with a rope around 1.30 am. Then they allegedly entered the company premises by breaking the window grill with a cutter. The accused then committed theft of copper plates worth Rs 12,390 from the spot and escaped.

Police sub inspector Santosh Sonawane is investigating the case. Police are checking videos captured by the CCTV cameras around the crime scene to get clues about the accused persons. Police have booked the unidentified accused persons under section 395 of the IPC.
