Veteran film director Esmayeel Shroff known for making films like Ahista Ahista, Bulandi, Thodi Si Bewafai, Surya passed way today. The filmmaker breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital.
Shroff rose to fame with his hit film Thodisi Bewafaii. This was also his debut film. The movie starring Rajesh Khanna, Shabana Azmi and Padmini Kolhapure was a big hit in the 1980s. The movie was written by his brother, Moin-Ud-Din.
Esmayeel was the only filmmaker to do four films with late veteran actor Raaj Kumar. The senior actor was not an easy actor to work with. When contacted lyricist Samir said, Esmaeel was suffering from various health problems since years. Meanwhile, filmmaker Suneel Darshan said, he was sad to learn about the demise.
