RR vs RCB play-off scenario: A loss could dent Virat Kohli’s dream of winning IPL

The Faf du Plessis-led RCB is coming into the game on the back of two defeats and they would be looking to avoid the hat-trick of losses if they want to stay afloat in the intensive play-offs race.

In a recent interview with the RCB, the former India and franchise skipper had said that he feels “really fortunate” to have played for the Bangalore-based team from Day 1 of his IPL career.

Kohli made his debut for the franchise in 2008. He played 234 matches for the franchise and scored 7044 runs at an average of 36.50. In his illustrious career, the right-handed batter scored five tons and 50 half-centuries. Kohli also led the franchise in 141 games. He won 68 of them and lost 71. But he is yet to win a trophy.

RCB will be playing against RR in the 60th match of the IPL. The match will be played at the Sawai Mansingh Cricket Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday. The match will start at 3.30 PM.

Rajasthan Royals have two games remaining and they need to win both of them to secure the top-four spot. They will face RCB on Sunday and then after a gap of few days will travel to Dharamshala to take on Punjab Kings.

Rajasthan has ended their losing streak KKR in the last game and with three losses in their last five outings, they have made things difficult for themselves. Before the win at Eden, they lost by four wickets against Sunrisers, received nine-wicket hammering by Gujarat Titans and a six-wicket loss against Mumbai Indians. All these losses came after they defeated Chennai Super Kings by 32 runs.

RCB are staring at hat-trick of losses. Like their counterparts, RCB too had lost three games in their last five. They have suffered back-to-back defeats against Mumbai and Delhi. Before that they won against Lucknow Super Giants by 18 runs in a low-scoring tie. They were stun by KKR at home. However, in the first leg against Rajasthan, they have won the match by seven runs.
