Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 1.41%
Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the lost 1.41%, while the index fell 1.90%, and the index lost 1.51%.
The best performers of the session on the were Covestro AG (DE:), which rose 0.49% or 0.210 points to trade at 43.460 at the close. Meanwhile, Linde PLC (DE:) added 0.33% or 0.650 points to end at 196.050 and Merck KGaA (DE:) was up 0.08% or 0.10 points to 124.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:), which fell 3.98% or 3.92 points to trade at 94.50 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:) declined 3.10% or 4.95 points to end at 154.95 and Adidas AG (DE:) was down 2.62% or 7.40 points to 274.90.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (DE:) which rose 0.61% to 62.600, Varta AG (DE:) which was up 0.18% to settle at 112.300 and Gerresheimer AG (DE:) which gained 0.17% to close at 87.950.
The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 5.40% to 4.481 in late trade, Grenke N AG (DE:) which lost 5.23% to settle at 34.46 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:) which was down 4.89% to 4.297 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:) which rose 1.44% to 70.500, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 1.03% to settle at 43.280 and New Work SE (DE:) which gained 0.42% to close at 239.00.
The worst performers were LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:) which was down 5.66% to 18.340 in late trade, Bechtle AG (DE:) which lost 3.76% to settle at 164.000 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 3.53% to 61.550 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 490 to 171 and 87 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aurubis AG (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.61% or 0.380 to 62.600.
The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 5.23% to 31.17.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 12.65 to $1928.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 4.12% or 1.72 to hit $39.98 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 3.54% or 1.53 to trade at $41.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1872, while EUR/GBP fell 1.20% to 0.9020.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 92.528.
